Lakbir has never been a subscriber, right from her early days designing the wedding trousseaus of countless Indian brides to now, at the helm of her own drapery design practice in Scarsdale, New York. Established in early 2015, following an education in interior design at Parsons, LDesign fashions luxurious drapes that are suited to the needs of your space and yours alone! Nothing cookie-cutter about them, imagine, if you will, yards and yards of beautifully embellished, textural material that make gorgeous puddles on the floor as they billow outwards and upwards to kiss and embrace the ceiling.

Now, with the launch of our online store, we have rebranded to Luxury Drapes.

Our design philosophy is simple: "Collaboration is essential". Creating a home that truly embodies your lifestyle is our top priority. The result is a harmonious and elegant interior that is fully functional and 'awe' inspiring. 

We also note the contributions of our skilled textile workers and needle artists in India, who have been practicing their painstaking craft for generations. With every collection of drapes, present and future, we aim to be the torchbearer of their immense, unsung talent. Committing a percentage of her earnings toward their upliftment is just one of our cherished goals.
