  • To be the focal point of the room
  • To create privacy
  • To provide an elegant, casual, subtle or dramatic background to the rest of the interior décor
  • To frame a beautiful view or hide an unsightly one
  • To pull together the room with its furnishings
  • To either diffuse or augment outdoor lighting
  • To insulate against the heat or the cold
  • To influence a home like a piece of furniture or a "home furnishing"
  • To protect floor coverings and furnishings from the sun

6 Step Design Process

If you are ordering online, please follow these steps.

1) Select fabric

To begin the bespoke drapery process, the first step is to select your fabric.

Our design ethos is greatly influenced by and celebrates the vibrant colors, patterns, shapes, motifs and culture of India. However, we collect textiles from all over the world. Our fabrics come in various colors, textures, weights, and prices so that you can find what works best for your home. When purchasing, you have the option of selecting a single panel or a pair of panels.

If you have additional questions about a specific fabric, feel free to contact us.

**** Many of our products are hand-finished. Slight imperfections may occur and should not be construed as damages as this is an inherent characteristic of handmade items--It is normal for finishes, textures and dye lots to vary slightly--Please also note that colors represented online and on all photography are representation only and is not an accurate depiction of entire color or finish

2) Select pleat style

After you have added your preferred fabric to your cart, the next step is choosing a pleat style. All our pleat styles come at no additional cost. Simply go to the product listing titled 'Step 2: Pleat style', make your selection, and add it to your cart.

When choosing your pleat style, make sure to weigh the importance of both functionality and aesthetics. For a more in depth explanation of the pleat styles we offer, check out this page.

3) Select hem

Once you have added your preferred pleat style to your cart, it is time to select hem length. Simply go to the product listing titled 'Step 3: Hem Selection', make your selection, and add it to your cart. There is no additional price for hem selection.

The hem is the fold at the bottom of your drape. The industry standard for hem length is 6'', but we offer hems from 2''-10''.

Our standard size panels are available at a length of 86''. Regardless of what hem length you choose, the standard panels will still be 86'' in length. If you require your drapery to come in a different length, please reach out to us about customization. Additionally, if you wish to add a weight chain to the hem please reach out to us about this customization.

4) Select border/trim

Once you have added your preferred hem length to your cart, you can move on to selecting a border/trim for your drapery. Simply go to the product listing titled 'Step 4: Border Selection', make your selection, and add it to your cart. Borders can be between 2''-8'', but the industry standard is 2''.

A border/trim is not essential, but is an embellishment that can greatly enhance your final drapery. A border can be used as a contrasting material when finishing drapes. If you do not wish to add a border to your curtain, you may choose 'No Border' as your border size and 'N/A' as your color and add it to your cart.

Borders can be made of the same fabric as your drapery (which does not have an additional cost in most cases), or they can be customized in a complementary fabric. Borders can be placed on the front or back of your fabric, depending on your vision and fabric choice. We offer customizable borders in lurex fabric in 10 basic shades, at an additional cost. If you would like to add a border that has additional customizations or is made out of a non-lurex fabric, please contact us!

5) Select piping

After adding your border of choice to your cart, you can select a piping option for your drapery. Simply go to the product listing titled 'Step 5: Piping Selection', make your selection, and add it to your cart.

Piping is not essential. While not everybody chooses to add piping, it is an embellishment that can greatly enhance your drapery, depending on your fabric choice and final vision. Piping falls under the border umbrella, but can be done in addition to a border. You may choose to have a border/trim but no piping, piping but no border/trim, both piping and border/trim, and neither piping nor border/trim. If you do not wish to add piping to your drapery, select no piping with N/A as your color and add it to your cart.

Much like borders, piping can be made of the same fabric as your drapery at no additional cost, or customized in a complementary fabric. We offer customizable piping in 10 lurex fabrics for an additional cost.

6) Select lining

Now that you have added your preferred piping option to your cart, it is time for the last step. Simply go to the product listing titled 'Step 6: Lining Selection', make your selection, and add it to your cart.

Lining is optional, and you may choose to add one based on the requirements of your space.

If you want a sheer drapery or a drapery solely for decorative/aesthetic purposes, you do not require lining. However if need a thicker drapery for the purpose of keeping light out, you may consider adding a lining. For example, many people consider 100% blackout or semi-blackout linings for their bedrooms. We offer 100% Blackout Lining, 100% Textured Black-out Lining, and Semi-Blackout Lining (70%-80% Blackout). We offer polyester and satin linings in most basic colors which you can select if you reach out to us about customization.

We also offer interlining which is placed between the main fabric and the blackout lining to add fullness to the drapery. If you want your drapery to be one of the statements in your room, you may consider using interlining to create this effect. This feature is typically used in a more formal living space or dining space but is not common in modern/contemporary room designs.
